This pair of storks nesting right outside my door.I am happy that they are back and this year (actually they came exactly on March 21 for astronomical spring)!Front of our house always had stork nests. When I was a kid there were two huge poplars and each of them had a single socket. These trees died of old age about 15 years ago. I do not know if there is continuity but five years ago this couple storks chose electric pillar who was only a six feet from the location of one of poplar?
Oh!!!..Vladimir what a very special sight...how luck are you...just wonderful!!!!.....:-))
Thank you very much Inky! :)
Thanks Pat !!! ;)
In fact, in Bulgaria has already installed a lot of places such platforms for nests, but the storks prefer trees or electricity poles. About 100 meters from this nest there was again another power pole and burned down it at one heavy rain after having short-circuit the power line. To the joy was late autumn and there was no storks!
Wow Vladimir, that is so cool to have right outside your door! I've never seen anything like this. The best I get here in Delaware, is a cardinal sitting on the fence. Love the pic!!
Thanks Rick!
What a great picture Vladimir. We have not storks but a special bird call Hornero, because the nest looks like a small mud oven (horno in spanish) prefer to do their nest over the lights of the street in winter, during the night they are on and has some extra warm.
