This is a Silver and semi precious stone Brooch by Bernard Instone. It is absolutely beautifully made. It is large in size 3 inches in length and at its widest point 1 1/2 inches. It was probably made around the 1930s. It is marked Silver but no Instone Mark which was typical of him. This I think is my favourite out of my Instone Brooch collection.
I wonder if anyone out there could tell me the name of the stones.
I have seen another similiar to this on Pinterest.
Many thanks for looking
Nice addition to your collection!
Difficult to say from only these pics... My guess for stones is tourmalines or/and garnets.
Let's see what others will say :-)
Very beautiful... I love your collection...
Thanks For your comment Kyra, I've put the brooch on a white background, the colours of the stones look to me to be clearer.
I've tried copying the link from Pinterest, it won't allow me. If you go to search bernard Instone link there is photo of the back of a similar brooch which is in the Birmingham Museum, further down there is also another brooch in a similiar design it has a large Opal. Many thanks for your lovely comment and love Valentino.
