I have a very nice 38" long Rescue Chopper that I cannot find any like it, or any formal information on it. The only information I have is that it is fairly old, and that it was part of a Toys R Us display for G.I. Joe that was not available for purchase. I bought it from a friend who inherited it from his mother who worked for Toys R Us many years ago. It's almost like brand new! I especially like the name painted on the back of the pilot's helmet "Red Dog II." I hope you enjoy the pics!
That is a 21st Century Toys/Ultimate Soldier Fire Rescue Helicopter. That one may have been used as a store display (tail section and rotors would be screwed on) but they did sell these to the public. I am not sure of the exact year but most likely late 90s. The figure was sold separately.
This is indeed a rare piece. Could be worth $300.
Re: fortapache. Wow, someone has seen this! Where can I find out more on the chopper. I have reached a dead end with nothing except from you. I also have two 12" G.I. Joes with large, 24" square parachutes that was in the same display. I recently read somewhere that the 12" G.I. Joe was discontinued around 1978, however, I could be mistaken.
Incidentally, my younger brother had the same Fort Apache set that you use in your profile. It was neat and he spent hours playing with it.
Very nice piece ! and Fort is the guy to talk GI Joe with he is a expert on him . Thanks for sharing your helicopter on CW and welcome aboard
Look up Ultimate Soldier and or 21st century toys helicopter instead of GI Joe. I'll do a bit more research tonight to see if I can find the exact year.
Beautiful helicopter. While my favorite helicopters are Huey's, Hughes helicopters are great helicopters as well. I don't have any collectible helicopters but I am like a kid in a candy shop when I see them. Great item!
Yes this is definitely a 21st Century Ultimate Soldier Fire and Rescue Helicopter. A Toys R Us exclusive sold in the early 90's. I have one with two action figures in a display case, one of my most prized collectables. Part of my Vintage GI Joe section even tho it's not officially GI Joe. Still a rare collectable indeed.
