    Lisa-light…
    (30 items)

I have recently acquired a shade I have been hunting for now for years. I had seen images of similar shades but never had the opportunity to hold let alone purchase one. Today I am thrilled to bits to actually do a show and tell, rather than my usual shows and asks. Giggle.
This shade of Vaseline glass has a five inch fitter and the open end of the shade reaches out to 12 inches. The pattern was registered by Walsh, in 1897 as Opaline Brocade. Soon after the pattern appeared in a trade paper, and Northwood started to also produce a very similar pattern of the same name. In later research this pattern was erroneously named Spanish lace. This caused some confusion, of course, but it is accepted now as Opaline Brocade.
I am not at all happy with the images. The colour is not at all respresentative. In the third image you can see the actual colour if you look into the shade on the left hand side of the fitter opening. I will try to get a better shot today and should I be successful I will add it in the fourth spot.
Thank you for looking. As always I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you, racer4four. I appreciate your kind words. Thank you too to all those who took time to look at this shade and to click the love button. It was good of you and I appreciate it. Are there any Vaseline glass people who can add anything or share anything about this pattern or maker?
      Sincerely,
      Lisa

thank you Vintagefran, they do look wonderful when they are flying and lit. ;O) I hope I have the right fixture for this one but it may take me a while to settle on the piece that is just right.
      Sincerely,
      Lisa
