This Art Deco, glazed ceramic flower or console bowl was manufactured by the Schramberger Majolikafabrik in Germany, circa 1930. The pattern is called "Gobelin 8," which was designed by famed modernistic designer Eva Zeisel. In German, "Gobelin" means tapestry. The last picture is a tea set showing the same pattern, courtesy of the Brohan Museum in Berlin:

It measures approximately approximately 6 1/4 inches wide and 2 1/2 inches tall, and it has a matching glazed interior. The impressed number on the bottom of the bowl is 2760, which is not an identified Zeisel-designed shape during her work at the Schramberg factory. However, when I contacted the Brohan Museum for more information on this bowl, the curator there definitely attributed the glaze to her , stating "We know that Eva Zeisel´s patterns were often used to decorate shapes that were designed earlier (before 1928), and I think your bowl is an example of this practice. The glazed interior is interesting indeed, I never saw this before."
I think the glazed interior really sets off the rest of the design of the bowl, and I'm glad it's unique.
Eva Zeisel was a prolific designer throughout the 20th century. She died at the age of 105 a few years ago, and the New York Times did an obituary on her here:

wonderful!!! I 2 things posted from the same company!! But yours is way way way stunning than mine!!! :) stunning pick my friend :)
Thankyou for uploading the picture!!
Thanks. I've being waiting awhile to find a good ceramic piece by Eva Zeisel. Even though the design of the glaze is hers, the shape of the bowl is not. Evidently, there is some debate that because the shape of the bowl was not designed by her, then it is not a true Eva Zeisel piece. Regardless, I love the Gobelin 8 glaze and would love to find some more pieces with it.
your very welcome Arisellon , the impressed numbers will tell if it is hers or not> theres a website out there that can tell you , I don't remember the name of the website.
The shape number is too early to be hers, as indicated in my text with the quote from the curator at the Brohan Museum.
well thankyou for sharing , the extra info!!!
