This vase is the same shape as a Ruckl Orange Shimmy vase posted here about four years ago. I've been expecting the 'plain' version to show up but it never has so I'm posting this one. Please note the minute outward flare at the base. Three layers...clear/orange/clear...plus the pulls...cut rim. Base shows wear.

I've added a link to the Ruckl Orange Shimmy vase below the line. If my assumption that this too is Ruckl is wrong please tell me. And welzebub did tell me......

It was bought in France so it has no mark on the base.

For what it is worth, I believe that the example in the Shimmy link is actually an example of Welz production. Although rim shapes vary a little based on how they were cut by the gaffer, the shape is found in several Welz decors with small rim variations.

Here is the shape in Welz Vertical Lines:

Here is another example of the décor identified in the other post as an example of Rückl. This is also the same shape. The real ID problem lies in the fact that the example in the following link actually has an FWK label on it.....

      http://www.kralik-glass.com/welz-images/shapes/vase/ws38.jpg

Although that member demands "irrefutable documentation" if you are going to question his findings regarding the attribution he is claimed, I never comment on his posts. To me at least, the FWK label would seem to provide as close to "irrefutable documentation" as one is likely to come up with.

I also meant to add that it is surely possible that multiple houses made the shape, as it is not extremely distinctive. In that case the ID of an example could be made through decors and labels if found in distinctive decors linked to a production house, or in any décor with an identifying label on it.

The decor on your example, although not distinctive in and by itself, is a decor found on distinctive Welz shapes, and as seen above, the shape is found in distinctive decors by Welz, and also with an irrefutably Welz FWK label.

Is your example Welz? I could not say 100%, but I would strongly lean in that direction based on the evidence.
