I just found this in a toolbox!

I can't seem to find any more info on these, or one on the net to compare to. Seems to be in great shape though!

      3-IN-ONE
1894 George W. Cole, a resident of Asbury Park, New Jersey, compounds a mixture to accomplish three things in connection with the care and maintenance of a bicycle. These are: a lubricant, a rust preventive and a cleaner. The formula results in the famous 3-IN-ONE® Oil that accomplishes three separate things with one application.

1899 The product proves to be an immediate success and the little business grows to such proportions that the company, G.W. Cole, is incorporated under the laws of the state of New Jersey.
1905-1910 The corporate charter is amended and the name of the company is changed from G.W. Cole to 3-IN-ONE Oil Company. Green glass bottles having the name 3-IN-ONE in raised letters and a cork stopper are sold. Circa 1910 metal screw-top caps make their appearance, while the rest of the bottle remains the same.

1933 The capital stock of 3-IN-ONE Oil Company is acquired by Drug Incorporated, which later dissolves. At that time, the 3-IN-ONE Oil Company becomes part of Sterling Products Inc.

The miniature bottles were samples that by arrangement with the 3-IN-ONE-Oil Company were included with numerous other manufactures' items: guns, roller skates, fishing reels, many toys with moving parts, etc. - as pw notes above, it is at least from after 1905 when the 3-In-One brand name was first used.

I've been thinking about a little competition for a while and I think in light of all that's been going on this would be a good time. I don't want to give any details yet to keep it fair . And I do want EVERYONE to feel comfortable about joining in. I will post details and get it started tomorrow if no problems come up .There will be "A Major Award"

I collect 3&1 oil related items and handy oilers. what you have is a sample that would get mailed to the person if they contacted 3&1 through mail. probably around 1910ish... they had a green one also around that era.

I found a triangular shaped corked top miniature sample bottle. 3 in one oil. However it is clear instead of green. Anyone have any idea if the age is similar to the green version.
