    Here are some more little treasures from cleaning out my mother’s basement. In the heyday of door-to-door salesmen, nobody was better known than the Fuller Brush Man. Starting in the late 1950s, the company gave away letter openers as a promotional item. I found these three in ivory, pink and clear plastic.

      Yes racer4four, they made a lot of sales. I think there were Fuller Brush door-to-door salesmen in every American city and most towns of any size.

      Here's the story of the last Fuller Brush man in my home town. For all I know, he may have been the one to give these letter openers to my mother or grandmother:
