hi, this is a shoe catalogue from around the 20's, its hand painted and its what a salesman would have used to sell from, i have some information from a kind lady from the nottingham shoe museum who gave me some great info on the company which i have pasted below. There are other pages and its in a gold gilt bound book 13"x17", sorry the pictures do not do justice to the paintings as they are so fine they look like photos.

It is an upmarket version of a shoe
catalogue possibly a version that was used by a shoe salesman to take
round to show prospective clients and retailers. We also have catalogues
that were bound at a later date to preserve them.

I'm not sure if you know about Manfield, but the firm were one of the
earliest shoe manufacturers in Northampton and set up in Northampton in
the late 1850s at Campbell Square. The head of the firm was Philip Moses
Manfield. He retired in 1890 and handed the business over to his two
sons. In 1900 the firm had 36 retail shops including 6 on the continent.
The 1st Paris branch being being 3 Boulevard Montmartre opened 1889. In
1922 they opened a shop in Philadelphia, USA.

The firm later it became part of the British Shoe Corporation and then
Burlington International. It closed March 1992.

Does your catalogue carry a date? Judging from the styles I would say it
    dates to the 1920s.
