Old St. Andrews Scotland map printed on Cloth

I found this map of the St. Andrews golf course in Scotland that is printed on some kind of cloth. I was curious if anyone has seen anything like this before and had any info on it and if anyone had any info on pictures painted/printed on cloth is that still common or is that a sign of something that is old? I hope to hear from you
