I am looking to find out more info about this chair. We've had it for 30+ years, it was my grand mother's. It looks to have been refinished or painted at some point.
The tag is torn, but what I can make out is:
F. He...... & Sons, Chicago, IL (the ... are where the tag is torn)
I've just added two additional pictures-one of the front top (which shows that it is plain, no wood carvings), and the back to show the wood better. The camera shows it as being black, but it is brown like to photo of the back.
Any ideas? I've searched the web, ad nauseam, nothing.
I can't see what the design is on the chair . Is there any ? Kindly ! Please if you can. Gives us a better view of this skirted wonder !! Thank You ! •!.~,
I just added two more pictures. Let me know your thoughts! And thank you btw.
Thank you ! As you can see ...
I'd have that looking as good as new ! Give me a couple of weeks and ....
There is no carving cuz that's where gram displayed her hand made doilies ! I'll bet ya ! I just love this ol' girl ! She's beautiful in my book !
If nothing else ! She could use a conditioning treatment.
Before I start any restoration I always take advantage of the exposed untreated wood and soak it in wood conditioner Fi a couple of days. In a plastic wrap to keep it from drying out. You just wipe off if any excess. At least and it will even look 50% better ! And helps to keep it from drying cracking splitting and crying ! Take care of her ! Or else I'll be showing up on ur door step !!! Lol!! :..:
Gunna try to research w/ what u got to go on ????
Hopefully I'll get back w/ something. Peace !
