This post came from the same trip as the last post of Kralik glass. The museum in South Bohemia in Kašperské Hory (cut and past) contains a glass exhibit that has some incredible pieces. It has pieces from all of the glass houses operating in the early part of the 20th century, It also is said to house all of the Loetz Witwe archives of witch only about 20% has ever been published. Here are some cool Kralik pieces contained within their collection (many more are in storage). My host curator explained how the different glass houses interrelated in business and in life. She also had some great stories about glass manufacturers, how they would sue each other for breach of glass patents; In the declaration phase they would omit certain details of their glass formulas hoping to win the case but not divulge key components of their formulas and techniques.

I find it interesting that amidst all of the talk of how the companies made all the same stuff, hence we can not ID it.... that there is a history of lawsuits and also hidden formulas and techniques... Sounds like it may not be the "one big happy family" some would like people to think it was......
Lawsuits over production.... very interesting....
Great stuff Jericho!!
