Picked up this interesting 19th century folk art watercolor at Volunteer's of America this morning. This continues my lucky streak of finding paintings after their end of month sale. Someone had opened it up though to give the matte a good white washing, It was probably yellowed and they thought this was a good thing. They should have left it alone but at least the painting didn't suffer any damage. It's firmly glued to the matte so I just cleaned the glass and buttoned it up. The painting shows one of the figures clearing brush with a machete while another looks on. "Hey dude what are you doing ? " Chopping stuff..wanna help ? "Nah, I'll just watch you for a while".......Darn nosey neighbors...lol -Mike-
This almost looks Australian with those trees - do you think they are eucalyptus?
I don't know Karen :).... I'll trust your judgement, The only Australian flora I've ever seen was in reruns of "Skippy"... I love that show. Skippy... Skippy... Skippy the bush kangaroo.....lol
Well....everything looks dry and brown...that says Australia to me lol!
