This Japanese battle flag was brought back from somewhere in the Pacific. This flag is easily confused with the Japanese naval flag because both have sixteen red and sixteen white rays eminating from the sun. The difference is that the army flag has the sun centered on the flag, and the naval version has the sun closer to the left side of the flag. This flag is harder to find than the standard white flag with the sun in the center. The photo shows two Marines displaying a captured Japanese battle flag.
