This was given to me by my cousin who's father owned and played it. I cant seem to find a similar one on the web. She thinks its around 100 yrs old but not sure exactly.
It is 5 inches long and 1.5 inches wide.
The back side has "Fabrique en Allemagne/Made in Germany" on each plate...
The wood is oval shaped with it being pinned from the ends as opposed from the top and bottom as most seem to be.
It has no engravings similar to what is seen on most Hohners but it does have 4 lines crossing the Hohner Marine Band in the middle of the harmonica.
It has a "C" stamped in the wood.
It appears to have been either originally green or had been painted at one time or another , but most is all gone.
I was pretty excited to receive this. I remember my uncle playing his fiddle a lot but don't remember him playing a harmonica. My cousin says his brothers played it as well from what she remembers.
it still plays ( I'm not a player) and can squeak out a basic tune and think its OK.
Nice keep sake.
If anyone can tell me anything about this I'd sure appreciate it.
