This doorstop is called London Royal Mail Coach. Measuring approximately 7 1/4" in height and 12 1/4" in width, this doorstop is marked, "GR N17" on each side. I got this at an auction. It is very heavy. It is stamped "Pat Pending" and also has the # 5. I would like to know where it was manufactured and the company who manufactured it. There were a lot of bids on this.

Thanks to fhrjr2, This mystery is solved. According to Kovels:

The design for your coach and horses doorstop was patented by Charles Tuteur of Chicago in July 1930.

Research - patented by Charles Tuteur of Chicago in July 1930. You should find it as you list it above by name. I didn't pursue it to find out if a patent was actually issued.

The name on the patent is the name the patent was issued to. I also found references to him being deported a year later. I didn't pursue that because I was interested in the door stop. When cast iron door stops had value I turned over a good many of them. The price bottomed out a dozen years ago so we are holding a bunch of stops and mechanical banks. I keep hoping for a surge in prices.

fhrjr2, Thank you so much for all of the information! I gave you credit in the description. I always liked this doorstop, so I hope that they do go up in value. I usually do not buy doorstops because I have been burned a few times.

Charles Tutuer Co was name only. He contracted with Chicago Hardware Foundry to produce NUYDEA marked products.
