I purchased these from an elderly man who owns an antique store in San Juan Bautista. He said that he's had them for over 50 years and that the man he bought them from said that they were brought over from Spain in 1915. I think they're really beautiful. The more elaborate pattern reminds me a lot of Matisse. There are four large bowls, three small plates and two large, serving platters or shallow bowls. They are all signed SPAIN on the back. i paid $200 for them, and i hope i didn't pay too much. can anyone tell me anything about them? are they faience? majolica? or what? i'd like to learn something about their approximate value as well.

      They are beautiful !
When I was in Spain a couple of years ago we went into a shop selling pottery cos I love they're pottery & colouring , New things were quite cheap to buy but the older stuff was very expensive some chargers over €600. Each & more..
I think you may have a bargain there :-)

help! i'm still looking for info about these. i found some similarly signed ones online, but still no info. i think that they are either Spanish talavera, faience, or majolica.
