      Nov. I found that that stands for Novelty. It was made at Novelty company then.

      Could they have been made for side shows at carnivals, clowns that you pop the ball in there mouth & come out on a number they use to have things like that.

      Maybe, the marking i no means Novelty company. I'm not sure what the G stands for.

      ceramic novelty type of things -- like something You win at Canivals or go buy at a store. I would think Japan which could be LEFTON, or GIFTCRAFT as a suggestion. Some enjoyable links for ya...

      My grandmother had this same set made by G Novelty Co. Japan (probably 50's circa) as I loved to play with them as a small child. She also had a horse with two colts on a chain as well. Also, G Nov. Co produced mugs, plates, nodders & other ceramic figurines. Hope this helps you find more info in your search. Best wishes.
