These are heirlooms handed down from my mom's side of the family, who were from Sweden. My mom knew that they belonged to my great grandmother who came to the U.S. in the 1800's. My mom was very into glass collecting when I was a teenager, unfortunately she has passed away and now that I am an adult and interested, I wish I could ask her if she knew anything else about the actual origin/age/value. I would appreciate any info. They are both approx 7-8in tall and 5-6in wide at the top. The are blown glass, with a star like stamp/indentation on the bottom of both. They are quite heavy, close to one pound each.
Thank you and blessings!
I love the colour I also love the style. We don't think when were younger what way our interest will go time & again we can kick ourselves as adults but that wont help we just have to hope we find someone that knows something.
these are called swung vases and are made by Jefferson Glass in their 'Lined Heart' pattern c1906. The color is green opalescent. Swung vases are made using shapes like tumblers, spooners, etc.; the glass is heated and held while swinging the glass to stretched to the desired length.
Thank you sooo much for the info tall cakes!
