This pair of Murano candle holders have attached amethyst colored grapes and green leaves which hang gracefully from a finely detailed serpentine rope. Although not original to the holders, the apple, pear, banana and grapes compliment them and make a nice dining table setup. All of the clear glass is infused with gold powder, and the the grapes and leaves are heavily accented with gold aventurine. What I find interesting, which speaks to their hand made nature, is the difference in their bases. Although they're obviously a set, you can see one base is flat, while the other, has a slight upward curvature. Although unmarked, I feel pretty certain they were made by Archimede Seguso as the rope treatment is a classic feature he used on his baskets. As always, thanks for looking.
