Old bowl with stand connected, lid with no screw attached in ceramic. Approx 8 inches in diameter. I feel it is old and want to know if I should insure it.

Hi, welcome to CW :-)
Not a specialist, but from the roughness of the mount, the fact there is no screw for the lid's handle, the color of decor, I think the whole thing is a decorative item, not old. Of course, it is only my opinion...
Thanks for your comment the stand is not wood appears to be ceramic and is joined. There is a mark at the bottom of two II dashes.
Some pieces sold as STYLE there: http://www.ebay.fr/itm/BONBONNIERE-STYLE-ART-NOUVEAU-DECO-EN-PORCELAINE-BRONZE-CENTRE-DE-TABLE-/261590223405?pt=FR_JG_Art_Objets_XIX&hash=item3ce7fe0a2d
Thanks I went to link and could not read French I think. I appreciate your help! Thanks
In my opinion, a crackle glaze has been applied to give it an antique look, and is too even to acquired with age. I wouldn’t call it a rice bowl, but more of a candy/bonbon dish or bonbonnierre from the French.
Thank you for your comments. I have made ceramics myself and used crackle finish and this bowl does look old including the mark on the bottom. The size of it is too big for a candy bowl that is why I referred to it as a rice bowl. Any other thoughts are appreciated. Thanks
You mentionned a mark on the bottom, could you add a pic of it, this would certainly help the specialists :-)
I will tomorrow it is just two marks like two capital I eg " II"
