My Grandmother purchased this set in the very early 1920's in Vancouver BC. The only marking on it are the numbers on the plate. It has great sentimental value but I am wondering if there is any actual value or where it came from.
I would say this beautiful set is probably Japanese, and looks to be very good quality. The finish is referred to as luster-ware and was very popular during the period in which it was purchased.
None of the pieces have marks other than the number?
Noritake had various companies producing similar goods for them, but their pieces are well marked.
Thank you for the reply. I double checked and though the two lids have the same printed number as the plate, the only other mark is the number 2 that has been imprinted in the actual bottom of the long tray.
