Here's another find from the St. Nicholas church's indoor yard sale. An almost complete Wright dressing table set from the 40's. It's missing the powder box unfortunately. I did find a single perfume bottle which I posted a while back in a different pattern. So I should be able to find the powder box eventually. The funny name for this bubble pattern "Boopie" reminds me of "Betty Boop". It was used on a lot of pieces by a few different glass makers. I also have a four piece snack set in this little bubble bead pattern. Boop Boop Pee Doop ! -Mike-
Cute name, but I like the bottles even better!
Thanks Karen :)..... Boopie...I love saying that....lol.
wondrful glow
Thank you Kivatinitz :)
I've never seen these before Mike. A pair of beauties!!
Thanks Rick :).... This is the first almost complete set I've seen myself.
I actually have this dresser set from when I was a child. Bought it at a garage sale for $5 and have kept it all these years - and I'm 67 now. I believe it was manufactured by Wright, not Smith. The entire set includes two perfume bottles with stoppers, a powder jar with lid and a glass tray with mirror. Yes, there was a mirror cut in the shape of the tray. Unfortunately I no longer have that piece. It's a lovely set.
Thank you Kalliequo :).... this is good to know. When I look these pieces up online sometimes the attributions are wrong on more than one count. Always great to get the correct information.
Love Boopie glass!!!!!!!
Thanks robin56...me too ! :)
