I purchased the watch back in 1997 when I was 12. What I can remember is it was made in honor/ Memory of President Grant in 1880's-1900. Everything else I was told is well forgotten. My son and I have tried researching and looking up the model but I cannot find anything on an Illinois Grant. This has turned into a father son bonding experience and my son who is 9 yrs old is loving every moment. This watch will be part of his inheritance which made him even more excited. If anyone may know anything please let me know. Thanks.
manufactured 1916 according to serial # 1418644
Are you sure Kerry? A 1916 movement serial was around 2,800,001...

I don't think 1916 because on Illinois website they have a list serials of dates and 1916 was a much higher serial number then mine.
oops miss read data sheet....1900-01
