I was given this handbag as a gift, but cannot find anything about the maker and wonder if it is a 50s bag or an imitation? The interior looks just as I'd expect a vintage bag to look, with brass fittings gripping the lining fabric, and there is a label on the pocket which says 'Specially Hand Made and Fashioned by Carol J. Miller. I find a Carol S. Miller online who makes modern handbags, but no J Miller.
Can anyone shed some light on this? It looks in vgc, no stains or tears, a little bit of fading to the braided trim at one side and the back, and only the tiniest bit of wear to the clasp.

I'm wondering if the different initial maybe be that the business changed hands for some reason in the family. You could try contacting any address you may have & ask them. Good luck
