I have a coca cola mirror about 2 feet by 4 feet food framed
my family has owned it since the mid 70s
The inscription appears in this order on the mirror
THE COCA COLA CO. (in script )
ATLANTA GA.
U.S. PATENT OFFICE
TRADE MARK JANUARY 13 1888
DELICIOUS & REFRESHING
( In left hand lower corner it says property of the coca cola company)
The mirror is backed with a newspaper from 1908

Charles looking at your mirror , yours is pretty authentically very very old , I see that the wood is aged and see water damage as well , I would say yours very very very old. NOT A REPRO.. Nice one!!
I would not have it repainted or anything else it would destroy the value!!

Daddy_Nobucks thanks for the info I find it hard to believe this is a repo but anything is possible . The text is the same but letter are a little bit different as well as there are no colored letters. The mirror also appears to made out of cellulose or some other product.
Also the filigree in the corners is different and bit more ornate
mirror could also be made of silver nitrate because it appears to be blotchy and browning in spots
Many mirrors similar to this one have been produced since the 70's. All of them are fantasy. Coca-Cola never produced pub style mirrors such as these. - earlycoke.com
THAT WEBSITE IS FOR FAKES .............. I just don't see this one as fake , I know its very hard to believe!! sorry .
but im no expert at all on coca - cola as well. so I could be wrong!!
Daddy Nobucks is a expert . The clue to me is backing the paper used is not that of a 1908 newspaper . It appears to have been taken out of a newer magazine copy of a old article and the clips and nail I see are newer . Just what I can see that it does not add up to be a true Coke piece :-(
In regards to the nails just found a marking that new glass was install in the frame in1973
It does seem you may be right in regard to the paper it appears to have staple arks in the middle of the pages unless they are from a magazine I need to do a little more research in to the paper
The one problem I have excepting its a fantasy mirror is that it must be a one off because there are no pictures out there that match this exactly like this and if this is a repro there should be lots of them out there and that doesn't seem be the case
Fifties50s it's not that I don't trust him the mirrors that you both have posted are not exactly the same this one was never in color the lettering is different if you zoom in on my mirror there is a round dot in between the coca and cola which is different. The letters on the mirrors you have shown appear to be painted on these it may if act be a repo but I haven't seen one exactly the same which seem odd to me
well , I have to say this ... im no expert by any means.... but I have to say this one really threw me off... so I was by any means not trying to cause any trouble .. this to the experts and the person posting the mirror... im sorry. I was also wondering would it be possiable to reshoot the images .. they are over pixelated ,making it very hard to see the first image. if so?
Fifties50s I have never said it wasn't a repro and I certainly never said it was from 1888 but if you read the original post I said it's been in my family since the mid 70s and by some writing on the back it looks like the glass was replaced in 1972 and it had been hanging on the wall in my parents house which I can assure its not undergroung. Secondly all I'm asking the EXPERTS for it to show me a exact copy of this particular Mirror none them have and considering this is a repo there should be many examples out there in addition any of these mirrors that the Experts have posted pictures of do not have property of coca cola in the lower corner or maybe they do and I can't see it. Lastly I was brought up to question all experts that don't seem to be able to provide a example or a answer to what I think are some legitimate and reasonably questions I have posed. I have know plenty of experts who have been wrong thru out my life. I would be just has happy if it was a repo since its been in the family for over forty years. Thank you for your expert opinion
I assure you Daddy Nobucks is a highly regarded expert in Coca Cola collectibles . You can take his word to the bank :-) You had the best of the best tell you it is a fantasy item which appears your selling with the green tag on it . Sometimes we don't want to know the truth and I get that but he is not wrong .
In regards to the green dot on the mirror when my mother was selling her house she asked myself and my siblings to mark what we would like to have i happened to get the green dots and my sisters chose other colors i can assure you that the green dot is a fantasy dot. If people would focus on the question I have asked or things that i have pointed out about the mirror that are different instead worrying about green dot. focus on the filigree which is different and more ornate then pictures supplied, the lettering in slightly different and more detailed and it says property of coca cola in the bottom left corner which i can not see on the photos supplied. as well as a Dot ( similar to a trademark dot) in between coca and cola all of these details can be seen if you zoom in with the view function on your computer screen. The mirror is definitely silver nitrate or some other similar product because when you peel the paper in the back the mirror finish comes off. Once again if it is a fantasy product or repo all I want to see is a exact copy there should be tons of them out there. THANKS
Here's your mirror in better condition. Interesting description by auctioneer. I personally would give great weight to the first sentence. Best of luck solving your mystery Charles.

I can log into that auction site am a member and this sign did not sell while several other signs sold at auction that day Of Coca Cola Memorabilia this did not sell . Year 2007 .
Manikin i would greatly appreciate any information you could give me regarding this mirror. THANK YOU
Charles I logged into completed sales of the link daddy nobucks sent you . I can see selling prices for all items sold at that auction this came up for bid but did not sell . Which in a auction where signs were selling in thousand of dollars and this did not sell to Coke collectors leads me to think Daddy was right and auctioneer got wrong info . AND if it was right the coke buyers would have been all over it .
Thank you
order the book they refer to it might help pg 43 it is cheap paperback at amazon

Jumping in late. I've personally had times where I've taken the advice of serious collectors like Daddy_Nobucks. Trust me...Coca Cola and collecting in general is full of unlicensed frauds. Frustrating to tell the difference.
Thank you for posting as it's a great learning experience.
what I find interesting in the auctioneers description is that there are only two known to exist plus the one that i have is three. It just seems if they were going to make this for repo or fantasy there would be more then three of them!
The auctioneer was told that by seller and if it was true why did no ne bid t the moon on it . It is not backed with fact . I would get book and you could take it to a Coco cola Collectors site or send picture of it to Coca Cola . You have our experts opinion . Wish you luck either way :-) I personally do not know about Coca Cola my statement above was based on the general look of it and how put it was put together . The photo is not real clear .
Thank you I'm going to get the book as well as reach out for the former currator at the schmidt coke museum in Elizabethtown Kentucky . Hopefully Mr Roy Minagawa will be able to shed some light on the situation
Great spiritted discussion guys.
