Hello,
This is a flagship of Polish Art Deco era design. It is presented in almost all publications concerning the subject.
They were produced in Hortensja glassworks in Piotrkow Trybunalski, the second most famous glassworks in Poland.Unfortunetely it doesn't exist anymore. It wasn't able to match all the changes after 1989 in Poland.
Very similar,if not the same model of jardiniere was produced by Abel in Yugoslavia, but I'm sure this one is Polish.
Thanks for looking:)
I just love these! It's interesting to learn how widespread certain Art Deco colours and shapes really were. It's also fascinating how a designer can successfully put the same design on totally different shapes.
Thanks for your comment,Peggy:) I think they were spread all over the world e.g.Niemen glassworks was the biggest exporter of pressed glass in Poland and their production was sent to Africa,Middle East and Argentina.
Don't single out,nutsabotas.Love them together :)
Just great glass Ivonne. Some great design there, and I think it's important that we have some of our glass roots (so to speak).
Thank you Karen for all your comments - always so nice and interesting :)
Cool pieces Ivonne! The jardiniere reminds me of some type of ocean vessel!
I've never thought about the piece like that, but yes, your're right .Rick !
Thanku you all for the loves :)
