    (439 items)

A many years ago find, carved frosted rock crystal, gold, diamonds and calibré onyx pot, custom cut citrines and ruby fruits.

    1.3/8" (3,4cm) high, 1.1/8" (1,7cm) wide, no marks...

Unfortunately some edge nicks to the crystal, and some solder at the back of pot :-/, but still a cracker!

Please, feel free to comment! :-)

Hi Kyra, well yours must be by Cartier, or else by someone who copied the Cartier design elements. The citrine tree trunk and branches look exactly the same on both pieces.

I see the Cartier one has green foil behind the rock crystal. Does your's have this?
    12. kyratango kyratango, 10 years ago
Hi Paul, no green foil on mine, but the crystal folliage is engraved very similarly.
Agree that the trunk is very similar!!! But even not a mark or number on it...

Looks a bit deco, do you know the age?

On the link comment #5, the Cartier tree brooch is 1918. It seems contemporary.
Thanks for your interest BelleEpoque :-)

Nice job on Kiwipaul for finding the Cartier link. I did some Googling and I found that Cartier produced different versions of this distinct "tree pot" brooch design. Very well could be a Cartier piece, but the lack of any hallmarks is questionable. I would think that Cartier would at least mark the gold? And all of their pieces I've seen online have their full name on them. The elements of this one and the one that Charles Jacqueau did for Cartier are so similar that I would think that there has to be a connection between them somehow, at least inspiration-wise. Remains an awesome piece though

A correction needed here, Kyra found the Cartier link, not me.

So on careful reflection this is probably a Cartier piece. Although not signed there are several possible explanations for that. Not all Cartier was signed, and it probably had some repairs, shown by the solder on the brooch fittings, and maybe marks were lost at that time.

Obviously it has had a hard life, hence the damage. But Kyra can make miracles happen to restore jewelry so maybe she can magic up a way to fix it.
    19. kyratango kyratango, 10 years ago
Paul, I won't touch it! Damages are too un noticeable to risk doing worse :-)
I think I'll submit it for appraisal and advice.
Thank you for the correction upon the link to Cartier ;-)
      I was knock-out to find it !!!

Forgot to say there is no solder to the brooch fittings, it is only patina :-)

I'd indeed be worth to take to an expert for valuation and repair. Good luck!
