Mid Century
Aventurine Murano Glass Bowl
Quadruple cased-black,blue and white.
I'm trying to learn more about glass.....so if I'm wrong please correct me ;)
Not positive but I think by Seguso.
Bottom shows a lot of wear.
I do love the dramatic colours of this bowl.
Love it -- Murano.....my guess Barbini!!
Super Colors !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a beauty Melanie, and as Rose said, Barbini. The trefoil edge and casework is classic Barbini. Sometimes you see these multi-cased pieces erroneously referred to as geode, but I believe a geode piece has more of a thick, flat rim - like a cut stone. It's a wonderful bowl which obviously has plenty of age.
oh my is it an ashtray?
found this and shape looks identical

wish I had a catalog in ref to his work
I always vote ashtray because that is what I collect. It is a very nice piece.
Probably made as an Ashtray back in the time (as smoking was popular) -- but now many refer to them as just bowls. Some people feel IF they say Ashtray, it will not sell. Then on the other hand -- Collectors of the Smoking era love these and look for these old pieces
I would not care what it is called (ashtray or Bowl) -- as it should just matter or appeal of design and colors used that SHOULD matter
