Here is what I was told is a 1931 Evinrude 25hp motor. Made by the OMC. It was my great uncles motor, Its been sitting for 45-50 years or so. (hes 89 years old) But my great uncle being a great mechanic dumped marvel mystery oil down the cylinders to keep it free, so she still turns over :) Nice brass propeller.

On the top is a starter generator. What do you guys think this is worth?

I have it in my bed room and use to to charge my cell phone on the top of it :-) So its very very clean.

Let me know what you guys think.

It looks like a 1920s Evinrude Speeditwin (22HP) or Fastwin (14HP?). Electric start is probably 6 volts and be sure to baby this as there are no new parts. Do you still have it, and does it create a spark still? How's the condition of the tank and carb? Lower unit would use a grease (Lubriplate 105) instead of modern oils.

I think she's beautiful. What you have is a 1931 or '32 Evinrude Speeditwin electric, and it is indeed rated at 25 HP, so the information you're being given is accurate. The model number will be either 603 or 604. It is a 12 volt positive ground electrical system. The appliance on the top of the motor is an Owen-Dyneto starter-generator unit, and most of the motors that I've seen that still had the electrical works in place are usually functional.

What are they worth? Every transaction is different. Similar motors just sold at auction in Indianapolis in the 400-500 dollar range. The oldest words about "what its worth" are still true - its "worth" what a buyer and seller can agree on. Hope this helps.
