Thought I would post some pics of my Oak Water Bed that I bought in the 1980's. Bought this one as I did not like those Dark Pine waterbeds that everyone HAD to have back then. This was more of a match with my other Bedroom Furniture. When I bought it it came with:
~ Headboard
~ The 3 side Bumpers (velvet) that go on the Right, left, and end pads
~ Bottom wood base that had 6 (3 each side) drawers
~ 60% Waveless Waterbed Bladder with baffles. It was not a real spashly around type (like the free float bladded) when you got into bed. The baffles helped to stop the spashly movement. So you did not feel like you were on a Ship.....LOL.
~ Matching waterbed sheets, case, pillow shams, and comforter.
It WAS the style back then and Everyone HAD to have one.....LOL. Again most were the dark pine chunky ones....I much preferred this one. It looked much more elegant. Just thought I would share a "Blast from the Past". Thanks
P.S - I checked CW, and there is NO other Waterbed posted...LOL, but it was SO popular back then.

I always wondered if you could feel sea sick if your bed partner moves during the night :-D
LOL....Must have been a North America thing!! Collect them -- Heavens No!! The splashy ones moved quite a bit -- that is why I got the 60% waveless. It was a very gentle wave when you crawled into bed -- and stopped moving sooner that the free float type. Those (in my opinion) felt like you were on a Ship -- for a bit...LOL
It was a 1980's FAD.......lol
You could stock liquor within easy reach with this headboard. ;)
Boy does this bring back memories Rose! I had a round one back in the 70's that sat directly on the tile floor. Verrry cold, but I loved it though:)

@ RICK55 -- You must been a Rocking to have a Round shaped bed....LOL
Didn't it have a heater in the water bed bladder? Mine did, so never cold!
Yeah Rose, it rocked like I was riding a wave, but I loved it anyway. Unfortunately, it didn't have a heater. I bought it from a friend for $20.00 and knew nothing about heaters nor waveless beds. I was young, and when you're young, you can handle anything :)
Gee, Just realized this is THE ONLY Waterbed here on CW. Is that a good thing...........or Bad? Or do I just have a whole past life here in my place....LOL

I always *wanted* a waterbed but never actually *had* one, back then when they were all the rage except for the occasional story of one falling thru somebody's floor someplace because they were supposedly so much heavier than an innerspring mattress bed...I certainly enjoyed the few odd times when I got to sleep in one anyways, even if those opportunities were few, far between, and sometimes probably just a little too sorta weird for my own good, but those are other stories of youth that don't really matter here... <lolol>
