I am brand new to this group. Enamel is my life's work. I've been lucky enough to find ways to incorporate other passions into that work. Here are just a few of the antique pieces I've collected and then used as inspiration. The first art nouveau drop is unsigned. the other 3 are all Rene Lalique, my hero! It is a joy to collaborate with masters long gone. I hope you see my respect for them! I hope this is in the spirit of the group?!
"Sunset"
Central element is an original and unaltered Art Nouveau drop in gold and enamel. It has original tiny pearls and a natural freshwater pearl . I've used 24kt bezel for the diamond and sapphire as rivets to hold the antique in place without any alteration or damage

Lalique "Prisoners of War" medal, silver CA 1915. One of several designs Rene Lalique created for production to raise funds for the people of France who lost so much during WWI. If you look very closely you will see the broken chains hanging from her wrists, a defiant expression of freedom!

Sisters in the Gardens
Rene Lalique Broach cast glass in original brass setting , with original pin mechanism unaltered set into fabricated gold and silver setting. The pin comes through openings in the back, a window is also left open for the "Lalique" signature. This design was cast in 3 different colors, I believe, over 20-30 years. The broach is ap 2+". I have the dimensions and the name of this piece, but it's on a different computer. It's quite thick!

"Come, Peace"
Rene' Lalique "Orphelinat des Armees" medal circa 1915. This is a thin brass pressing of an incredibly moving carving/repousee' by the master to raise funds for the French orphans of WWI. They were sold widely, on a red, white and blue ribbon.

Hi EnamelArt - Am I correct to understand that the central elements in each necklace are antiques, and you have created and fabricated the rest of each necklace?
If so, your enamel are masterworks, and the designs of the completed pieces are very beautiful and extremely sympathetic and complimentary to the original piece.

Only a portion of my pieces incorporate antiques/fossils and other found objects. I don't know if it's ok to post those that don't have them. I'll post more pieces soon.

Kiwipaul, I don't know how to respond to your question. Yes, you understood correctly. I sometimes use antique pieces to inspire me to create something new. The enamelwork is my first love and has been my life's work for 48 years. I love the old pieces of past masters/artists/craftsmen. It's been a very happy realization that I can play with them, and give them a second life.

EnamelArt, beautiful pieces. Kyratango is a master of enamel art herself, if she doesn't mind my saying so, you can judge for yourself looking at her page. It's hard to do anything except stand back and admire such talent.

To perhaps show my ignorance again, is the Rene Lalique being discussed here the same Lalique of the glass vases? I didn't know there was also jewelry.

Lalique specialized in jewelry before he began making glass. I was fortunate to be able to see these pieces in person at the Gulbenkian Museum, but check out this online album. He was (in my opinion) the BEST!

Hello all. I've been away from computer. Thank you all for welcoming and kind comments. To answer and to ask some questions.
I'm from California. The Rene Lalique pieces are, as explained above, pieces by the great master of jewelry, glass, metals etc. The pieces I've used are of the period. Bluboi, by expand do you mean me to add new pieces or use larger images?
