I found a set of these plates, but cannot find a maker's mark or pattern indicating where it was made? Any help is appreciated. They are beautiful salad plates, measuring 8 inches across. Lovely flower pattern pressed into the bottom of the plate. Thank you!
Welcome !!!
Do they also Glow under a UV light??
Thanx for preserving Glo-Glass ! Nice set of depression glass ! Looks like Fenton design .(?)
Are they worn from use ?
Thanks Lambda55 - They are in decent shape - some scratches here and there, but no chips. I have a set of 7. I don't have a UV light to try it out though, so I'm trying to find one. I'll update when I do.
Hi, I just came across the same plate with the same pattern. It does glow under a black light. I can't find a matching pattern either! Any help would be appreciated!
Thank you so much Housejewelry! They are lovely plates I just wish I knew who made them. The pattern is a mystery, I have been searching the Internet for similar pieces with no luck. At least I know about the glow now. Thanks for your input! Hopefully we get this mystery figured out!
TallCakes is pretty good at identifying this type of glass, he might come by with a comment. :)
'Cathedral' (aka: 'Floral and Lattice') by Hocking Glass is a fairly scarce and distinctive pattern. This pattern was produced for only a short time by Hocking Glass in the early 1930's. This dessert or salad plate is the only form produced (not a full table service).
Thank you so much TallCakes! I'm so glad to finally learn what these plates are! I knew they were special. I really appreciate all of the helpful comments!
