is this style murano ? No it's not!!
and if not, by whom and which artist please?
I've seen this style so often but I cannot remember who is the maker please,
Sorry don't have the pontil but I'm gathering it won't have one...
Answer Now and vase after arrival: It's called Snowflake, thank you Karen Racer, it is made in China can you believe and it is absolutely stunning in person. I'll go as far to say of the less expensive purchases I've made he is an absolute stunner. $12 and well spent. I know the large floriforms I picked up for $6 were possibly my best buy but this one is just so beautiful. The texture and the design, the swirls, the clever glass casing, the beautiful peach blown as they call it around the rim but I'm sure snobs will say it's not because of where its made or something. However they have certainly excelled themselves and it fits in beautifully with all my spatters...the second last photo shows where he sits.
Now, to decide...is he too pretty to keep calling him, should I change him to She!!!!
Cheers
Anne
Hi Anne, it's very nice whoever its by. Lovely colours!
thanks Fran, I am so hoping someone can help me with it...I've seen this pattern at someones house that isnt alive now and with that goes the heritage of the vase.
If I were a guessing woman I'd say it was 1960's or around but then it could be 1980's....
Really hope I can find out on this one as the style is very different to what I collect....but I like it.
stunning!!!!!
I've never seen this decor associated with Murano glass Anne, but it's a well executed, beautiful vase regardless!
Anne I believe it to be Chinese.
Anne this is 1970s Chinese by Snowflake.
I'm smiling here because I am currently drinking out of my Snowflake glass (a set of six, alas no water jug) and have just been considering buying a vase I have seen.
This glass is very well made, and the technique is also with coloured swirls on a coloured base and then clear cased. It's getting very collectible (here in Aus at least).
Thank you Karen. Thank you for the info. Although I'm guessing I'm not the only one who has seen this style around and wondered. I can see a few bits and pieces around the place. I might get a few of them when cashed up again, they seem lovely. I'm led to believe from someone I know who collects a little bit of it that it's well made. Look forward to its arrival....
Love this I have a piece too :)
thank you Lise. Yours is lovely too. They all are very individual too
I've added new photos and the description thank you to the wonderful Karen who we all love!!
