(22 items)
These are just a few of the items I found opening the boxes of my Grandmothers estate... I have moved all these boxes for 30 plus years, waiting for the day, I could take the time to open them... I raised 5 children, 4 boys and a girl... When my son became a Marine and left on 2 deployments... I decided to go through the boxes to keep myself busy and not go crazy with worry.... [I think Mom's should get purple hearts when their kids sign up for a military life... its like drop kicking a Mom's heart through a goal post.... well.... for me anyway... as I worked in VA Hospice for many years...]
Now where was I..... Ahhhh yes.... these sewing items... if you know any of the items and would like to tell me about them... THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!
Have you a Singer machine from her too? Many of these items were accessories for a machine and it looks like she was a quilter too.
I love old sewing notions and accessories!
racer4four... I have found some quilting [squares] and fabric unfinished and she made some embroidery pieces... I didn't know any of this until I opened the boxes...
To me she was the most loving Grandmother who looked like she walked off the pages of Vogue! Now.... how can I post her photo to show you? AND what do you see in these photos that show quilting? And yes there are 2 singer sewing machines in the conex I'm going through... [Conex- the shipping containers on the back of semi trucks- there are 4 to go through!!!]
Some of the very large feet are for quilting - they generally have a moveable slide for a measuring guide. The patterns in photos 2 and 3 are for quilts as is the special rule in photo 2.
I hope you find buttons! Everyone loves old buttons :)
