I found this great heavy wool blanket. It measures 56" wide and 82" long. Seems like a strange size? Maybe it is not complete?
It has satin (acetate) edging on either side of the long sides. This edging was sewn over the original edging which is still underneath and it is a light maroon color. Please excuse my ignorance with "blanket terms".
It has a small cloth tag sewn on it rich reads "Vivian Marx". I don't know if this is the person who made it, or it belonged to this person, or it was a company. I thought the "V" pattern and the name Vivian might have something to do with each other, but perhaps it can be just a coincidence.
I couldn't find any other information on the pattern or the name. It is a mystery for sure.
I just love this old piece and the color!
