This chair came from an antique mall in Cadiz, Kentucky. I love to look at furniture like beautiful architecture, but rarely do I want to take it home. I saw this chair under a pile of stuff and absolutely fell in love with it. I’m guessing 1910s, arts and crafts – but I really wish I knew more about it. (I’ve been scouring the internet to see if I could find out anything about it, but I haven’t seen anything like it. Fat chance, my finding a mate for it I suppose :-) It appears to be oak, the seat back is leather, and the underside has markings of a hand painted “P” and what looks like a stenciled 932. The seat is curved, like a wide U. (By the way, as an aside, I do know about the handsome duck next to the chair. He lights up and was made in Van Nuys, California in the late 50s. He came home with me from the same place along with some swell Buffalo china I had been seeking. I hit pay-dirt that day : -) If anyone knows anything more about the chair, I would love to know.
