      Where do I begin................O.K. it is OLD and blue glass........that's the last correct thing you posted.
      1.) It's an Oil Lamp without the Chimney (clear glass part) they are esy to find.
      2.) it's not steal or even STEEL, it is painted pot metal, an inexpensive cast metal.

      It's a very nice thing but not much value...cleaned up it would be pretty sitting on your mantel... they are also called Hurricane lamps in parts of the country... living in Florida I can attest that when we endured the season of the four hurricanes we did use ours on the mantel in front of the mirror, they gave us enough light to function............ Enjoy.

      I have no idea of age or value............it would all bedifferent in Italy anyhow........It goes to the adage that my Antique Dealer friend told me long ago.............buy what you like because you might have to look at it a long time !
