My collection has sat stagnet for the last few months. The new baby, happy and healthy, the reason why. But when my 7 week old looked engaged and wide eyed at this beauty when it popped up on my computer screen...I had to snag it off eBay auction. Not mint...a few minor scuffs around rim edge...but the price was way more than fair for my first tip tray.

Ah, "Elaine". 1916. Congrats JPSII, there's nothing quite like being a father. And sounds like your baby has a good eye, just like Dad. Nice early tray that will be 100 years old before you know it. The kids grow up fast too, so enjoy.

Daddy...Thanks and thanks! Great advice coming from the man with Daddy in his moniker! As a few of the earlier 20th century pieces find their way into my collection...I can't help but stop and think about 100 years old. Economic times were uncertain when this tray was produced. The beating drum of WWI I'm sure weighed heavy as American's debated placing a "tip" in a tray when buying a Coca Cola. Either way it still excites me to see these pieces of history survive.

Great pick. Can't go wrong with thee tip trays as I think they're hard to find in good condition. Yours is nice!
