I have a huge collection of matchbooks from my father. He was a WWII Navy veteran and was at Pearl Harbor. He was stationed all over and I think he saved every matchbook during his travels. When he was a young man he sold advertising on match book covers which would have been in the late 30's. I have several bundles of the flattened covers - no matches were ever inside however the flint strip is intact. So basically no staple marks. Do these have value like an intact matchbook (no individual values please - just in general)? These are very neat - great art, etc. They are pristine.
I also have matchbooks from all the the battleships in Pearl Harbor. Great nightclubs in Hawaii, San Francisco, etc. Are there any good books out there which might give me an indication of value or a website that someone can recommend.
Any help is appreciated - not sure where to start!
