While out doing some rummage sales recently, I came across this stunning vase that just blew me away! It was among two other peices of crystal, Anna Hutte peices, but this was not. It is a very heavy item, the walls of it are about a half inch thick (the cuts into the crystal are almost a quarter of an inch deep). In the sunlight or with a lit back ground, it shines with intensity. I tried to find the pattern for it, but could not. I looked thru Waterford, England crystal and so forth, but to no avail. I really like this one, very pretty deep cut crystal with red front (think it is called cut to clear?). Vase itself stands about ten inches tall and just a gem. I do not want to part with it, but would like to know who makes it. I see a lot of others like it in the way of goblets and glasses, but never have I seen a vase like this. Any help would be great. I would like to tell my children what I had found and keep my "father knows all" approach :)
I did try Ebay, but only found some goblets and such (and am now unfortunatly watching another one I found very pretty but expensive). There was one with a flower that they called a Dresden, may look into that more. I would love to fill a china cabinet with this. I will check into Dresden more, also try Etsy.
Its vintage American Brilliant red cut crystal. Beautiful I have6of the wine gobbletts.
Thank you Bronzelover! Do the goblets have the rose on them as well? Not sure if the whole set was a dinner set, but wow that would be a set to have!
One more Bronzelover, becuase of your answer, I found a great site that shows all kinds of great stories and patterns; http://www.cutglass.org. What a great site! I will be a member before the day is out. Thanks again!
