This cooler was made for the Los Angeles bottling Co. In 1924. The only other one I have found is by Googling " the first coca cola cooler". Back in those days each bottling plant contracted their own coolers locally. It was designed by Cecil R. Barbee, vice president of Coca Cola at the time. The cooler is totally original. The handle on the left side was to hang a towel to wipe the bottle dry after taking it out of the ice water. It measures 35" W x 19 1/2" D x 33" H. The inside is galvanized steel lining. No rust! I think I bought it in 1971 in Santa Monica, CA.
Awesome cooler:)
Interesting piece. That maker's label makes it extra special, can't imagine many of those survived either. The bottlers did their own thing back then. Great first post. I see you collect the early stuff, hope to see more of your collection. Welcome to CW.
Great item! Agh, an FNG. Welcome to CyberAsylum, aka CW. You will find good company here in the Coke field. Did I say, "good"?

Nice to have you aboard. Old stuff is the best so keep them coming.
