Hi everyone! I hope someone can help. We have this trunk, which we love and were hoping for more information on where and when it was made and what it might've been used for? There is DAMOUR A stencilled on the top, and a 'depot d'entree' tag on the side. If I can provide any other information to help anyone identify it please just let me know!

    Thanks very much.

It is a footlocker the name on it is most likely the original owner. Not that familiar with footlockers so can't provide any information on age or where it was made. If you search the internet for footlocker you might get more information. Not sure if yours is army green or black the color doesn't show up that great on my screen. Military personal would use them for storage at the foot of the bed.

Belber trunk and Bag ,Seattle trunk Factory and a few others had the govt. contracts to produce these types of trunks for military personnel (Mainly officer usage but not exclusively. ( they could of course be purchased outside of the Military. Based on the spacing of nails ,lock and hardware, solid OD Green(Olive drab) Korean war/Vietnam era most likely.

Thanks very much KathyKay and Drill, really interesting to read your info. Especially regarding the likelihood off the lockers attendance in Vietnam/ Korea.

Kathy, the locker is a dark Olive colour ( well identified by Drill) which made me believe there may be military connection.

Would be keen to hear from a military collector on any further info.

      Thanks again.
