    No idea what it is. The handle is wooden and measures 5". The metal work is mostly brass with a pivot point half way along. Total length is 17". The 6 spikes are VERY sharp. It pivots 180 degrees and the brass shaft is made in such a way as to act as a kind of spring or dampener. Our guess is something agricultural!

      i forgot what these were called, but isn't this a cooking tool to cook small game birds over the fire?

      Hi ho2culture
      I see where your coming from, but I can't see how it would work. The lower half swings to just over a 90 degree angle to the handle without any weight on it. As soon as something heavy were put on it it would just drop back off. Im not saying its not a cooking tool.. Just that I can't get my head around how it could be used as such.
