This Art Deco inkwell is a new acquisition of mine. The geometric, Machine Age design of it is just wonderful! It looks like it could have come straight out of "Metropolis" or a Buck Rogers movie. Circa 1920's. It's made of a metal alloy...looks similar to nickel, pewter, or silver plate. It has a wood bottom and is missing the glass insert for the well. Can those be replaced?
It appears unmarked, so I'm not sure of the designer. Anyone have any ideas who might have made it?
Great design... great lines... great find...... Love it!!!
The glass can be replaced, but they are generally expensive because they kind of have you by..... well you know.... :-)
What an amazing thing! To me it almost looks 1920's/1930's futurism!
stunning!!!
Futuristic is the right adjective to describe it!
