I Inherited this sewing Machine from my Husbands Grandmother . I love to sew but has been a long time since I have sewn on a machine. I have no manual and would love to find one so i can sew again. All I know about machine is from i could find online and I am still not sure if it is correct. I believe this to be a 1925 model 99-13 with a Dome wood case that has a key lock (i have no key for it but was very careful removing case) also no manual with it. If I am mistaken about machine year and model # I apologize, but am very interested in knowing if i am correct and if I could get pointed in right direction of finding a manual and possibly a replacement key
Model 99, on of a batch of 15,000 commissioned May 19 1925. Here is a link for the manual http://www.singerco.com/uploads/download/9d4377811af9ffbbaa1b8efd50ea962c142a66d9.pdf
I am told that a small screwdriver can substitute for a key without damage to the lock.
Thank you for sharing the instruction manual. Inherited nearly the identical machine from my Grandmother, whom, I'm told inherited it from her mother-in-law. The one I have is set in a sewing table, not so portable. The plate on the base has the number AH091468. The manufacturing plate on the back has serial number 6238755, made by Simanco. The Cat.B.R. number is BR 8-5 or S. If you have any additional information to share, would love to know more.
