This is a ring that my Mom gave me many years ago,it is one of 3 that I have from her and I hope you can see the beautiful star in the center although I really need help with my close ups,it goes all the way across the stone and it is so stunning.I don't know why she decided to give it to me since I have 2 sisters but I know she has taken care of them also,thats the way my Mom is.My little sister has her English china tea set,lucky girl.Anyhow,this ring has 2 diamonds on the diagonal but I don't know their size.I saw one similar to this on auction a few weeks ago and it went for $2000,I was stunned.
This sapphire is a so called star sapphire and quite valuable and than also with 2 diamonds I think you are right. This ring is worth a lot of money! Very beautifull and a compliment for the taste and share of your mother!
I have a ring very similar if not just like this, so I am also very interested in the value, however, not too sure about parting with. Maybe for the right price though. Please email me and let me know what you find out.
Thank you for your comment and compliments Agram.m,I will make sure to tell Mom when I see her in a few weeks.I have no idea what the ring is worth but I don't think I will ever sell it because I don't feel right selling gifts especially ones from my Mom.I am a bit curious though and thinking about having it appraised,I just don't know who to go to for that.

Juwelry from mothers or grandmothers (of course also fathers) are and stay always very special. Most people will never sell for that reason neither do I!
I have a sapphire star ring, got it when I graduated High school...wow...I just love these, but hardly never wear mine. It is stored in safe...thanks for reminding me I have this. Very beautiful ring you have.
