I just picked up this beautiful piece from a wonderful gentlemen but I need to find out more information about it and if it is valuable to the historical society near that location. I have done my own research and can't find any thing like it to compare it to other then stocks and bonds and train tickets and this is older. Plus it is not anything like stocks and bonds it holds a way different meaning especially during that time period. I was very excited when the gentlemen sold it to me and I had bought some other nice stuff off of him and I asked him what he knew about it and he said all I know is it's 100 years old and its a valuable piece because it had to die with The North East Pennsylvania Rairoad Co. at Trevose, PA and it was certifying Chester G. Duckworth, to be the authorizing Agent of The North East Pennsylvania Railroad Co. at Traymore,Pa for the sale of tickets to passengers traveling on said road. It has a raised stamp from the railroad company and was attested by the secretary, the General Passenger Agent and the President. In the top left corner it says Form 29 G. P.. D. If anybody hs any information on exactly what this is and how many they handed out per railroad I would be so grateful. I am really stumped my search has come up empty handed and the piece had intrigued me since I got it. Please email me at reissdogs@comcast.net. Thanks for your help, Kelly

Hi, This is a nice piece. I can't tell you anything about the railroad itself, but I can answer some of your other questions. How many per railroad? That would depend on how many ticket agents the railroad had. This railroad may have had only a dozen agents. Thus, a dozen of these. The Pennsylvania RR, on the other hand, with thousands of ticket agents, would have had thousands. As far as a nearby historical society having interest in it, items like these bring a long gone railroad to life, brining a human element to a long gone, once proud railroad company and the employees who proudly worked for them. Traymore is out by Pittsburgh.
