My mothers China Doll. She has always been wrapped up and on top of the wardrobe! Would love to know her age?
Does the body go with the head? Is she the sort to be 'collectable'?

Your doll is made Of Bisque by Schoenau & Hoffmeister German Co. your doll is mold 914 a dolly face the 18 is just head size . It is just a number they picked on Old bisque dolls so they could easily match the right size head to right body size . Yes this is right body style for her a composition fully articulated body , It is called a bisque socket head doll . Dates 1901-20's

The Schoenau & Hoffmeister porcelain factory, also known as Porzellanfabrik Burggrub, was located in Burggrub, Germany and was founded by Arthur Schoenau and Carl Hoffmeister in 1901. By 1907 the two partners were in disagreement to the type of porcelain heads for their dolls. Hoffmeister insisted on producing shoulder head dolls, while Schoenau wanted to produce socket head dolls. Unable to resolve there differences Carl Hoffmeister left and Arthur Schoenau became the sole owner.
One like yours . Very beautiful her head can be reattached

PS store her face down so eyes that are held in place by plaster don't begin to pull away. :-)
