Bohemian "End-of-Day" Spatter glass in a matt satin finish. This has areas of transparency when in strong light. Measures 8 1/4" across top rim to rim. Height is 4". It seems like there is a lot of depth to this particular type of decoration, what with the strong colors spattered on the overall sort of "dull" matt tan color. Add to that the areas of transparency which really thrills me also. Anyway, I'm insane for this one particular color and collect the heck out of it. Thanks for looking!

      Looks like Ruckl to me.

That's quite funny...... and not the least surprising......

To me at least, the only thing the two decors really appear share in common would be a satin finish....... a style of finish likely used by almost every glass house at some point. The linked example is orange and uses more colors, in much smaller frit pieces, to develop the décor. I have to be honest and say that the "relationship" between the two décors, and any possible link, escapes me completely.

I do not know who made this example, but would have to say that any supposed attribution would most certainly need to share more than a satin finish to be an even remotely supportable assertion.....

Agree with welz-- two different decors.

Additionally, some have linked anything with a semi orange spatter to ruckl pierrot.

It might be useful to look at this link to see the line art for pierrot (that some are using as a basis for attributions):

I see major differences in all of the supposed ruckl pierrot.

The shape in the line art does appear to be distinctive and could prove useful in attributions. To the best of my knowledge-- there have not been any shape links based on the line art.

The image in the following link is actually quite simnilar to a shape I believe is found on the line art drawings. It is on the décor 988 Jade Shimmy Pfau. It is, to the best of my knowledge, the only even relatively close shape match I have ever seen to that line art. I have looked to match pieces to those shapes since first receiving the copies of unpublished pages of the artwork from Deb Truitt almost 8 years ago. I know of other collectors who have also, unsuccessfully attempted to do so.

Nice one.... are there any markings hidden on the base .??
    8. EZa EZa, 10 years ago
Hi ozmarty, There are no markings on that particular bowl, however I have a pair of candlestick holders, and a vase all in that particular tan spatter color that have markings on the bottom: the same stamp in silver that says Czechoslovakia.

I need to add that the silver stamp on the bottom is semicircular and the O's are closed.

Hi EZa, I am going to assume by semi-circular that you mean it looks like a smile.... and not like the Kralik arch... Is that correct?
    11. EZa EZa, 10 years ago
Yes, a smile with very little curve to it.
    12. welzebub welzebub, 10 years ago
Thanks... exactly what I thought would be there...... Not an identified mark.... but one that I see a bit.
